Parents...please fill out an evaluation (Click Here) of your coach for this season. The DRSC would like information so that we can provide a better program for your child. This evaluation may help us to identify areas where we need to provide better support for the coaching staff and programs we can add to help your child experience the 'Beautiful Game of Soccer'. We have already received a number of forms all with great ideas and comments for the future teams..thank so much.
Parents go through the same process of learning as do the children. There are many thing you need to learn about youth sports to be able to support your child. There is a wealth of information regarding youth sports and parenting on the internet. Learn to be supportive of your child. It's their game. Don't worry about wins and loses. Do be concerned that your child is having fun. There are many adult leagues in the area for those parents that need more. Cheer the players on...both side, learn to recognize good play and sportsmanship on the pitch.
Always bring a size appropriate ball to practice. Have your child ready for a practice or game with the shin guards (mandatory), mouth guards and head gear is optional. Soccer boots with plastic cleats are not required but do help. Always bring water to drink...more in the hot weather. Dress in layers for the cold spring games and for rainy days. Bring a change of clothes for the ride home on a rainy day and a rain jacket for the sidelines. Undergarments can be wore under the uniform. Wear clothing that is not bulky...no hoods allowed. Wear a stocking cap and gloves on those cold rainy spring days.
